The tissue business - an attractive opportunity for bold industrial entrepreneurs?

By Esko Uutela Tue, May 11, 2010

Tissue is a recession-steady and globally expanding business, as the resistance to economic recession showed in 2009. Tissue is also much less capital intensive than other papermaking sectors: the initial investment in a modest converting line can be rather small but you can become a niche player through such an undertaking. Premium tissue manufacture may include the use of rather complicated technology (TAD or similar), but even then the basic product characteristics are simple and requirements easily understandable for both the consumer and the supplier.
