Bio Strategy Award About

This award will go to the company that has shown significant and successful progress in the area of using wood, biomass or waste for the creation of bioenergy, biofuels and other non-core products that signify an entrance into the burgeoning "green economy".

Entries should come from companies who are either already implementing strategies in this area, have embarked on pilot projects, have started an investment, or have project plans that are under consideration. Companies should demonstrate the achievements that they are making in new energy strategies that will impact financial performance.

The judges will be looking for a company that has grabbed this opportunity with both hands and is trailblazing a path where others may follow to capitalize on what will be a very lucrative business area for pulp and paper mills of the future. 

Environmental Leadership Award About

The pulp and paper industry has come on in leaps and bounds on the environmental front over recent years, and is finally getting noticed by the end user as being an industry that cares for the planet. This is mainly due to the fact that a huge amount of effort has been put in by companies and individuals alike. The Environmental Leadership award is a hugely a competitive award, and the winner will be a company that has shown goundbreaking commitment to the care of the environment, as well as letting the world know just how far it has gone. The winning company will have gone the extra mile and above the call of duty to devise a company-wide strategy that clearly demonstrates all the important areas of action and enhancement it has made at its facilities to address environmental issues.


Financial Strategy Award About

This award will be presented to the pulp or paper company that stands out among all others in devising and implementing a successful financial strategy for running its business –keeping a close eye in risk mitigation, investment rigor, and fiduciary oversight. The winner will be the company that has not only implemented and managed a successful financial strategy, but has done so in a manner that supported its customers, whether on a global or regional basis, and is on a solid and secure financial footing for the future.

The judges will not only be looking for creativity and inventiveness, but also more importantly examples of real live work that combines those two elements into a vital product for the end-user.
