B. W. (Bill) Franks Jr. began his career with Lydall Inc. in 1979. In 1983, Franks joined TNT Transall as the Director of Sales and Operations where he remained until 1986. In early 1986, he rejoined Lydall where he held various sales, marketing, and operational positions. In 1997, he became a Group President of the companies Logistics and Paperboard operations.
In September of 2008, Mr. Franks partnered with a Washington D.C. based private equity firm, to lead a management buyout of Lydall Logistics where he was appointed President & CEO and re-branded the company as The CrossGlobe Group.
In August of 2012, CrossGlobe’s Port of Virginia operations were sold to Logistec, Inc., where he assumed the role of President. Franks retired from Logistec, Inc. in December of 2014 and formed a port focused consulting group. Then in late 2015 he assumed the role of Executive Vice President of Business Development for the Evans Network of Companies, a market leading logistics partner with a fleet of 3800 power units and 200 terminals throughout the USA. www.evansdelivery.com
Franks holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from LaSalle University (LA)—he is a member of the Board of Directors of TowneBank (NASDAQ: TOWN) in Williamsburg, Virginia, The Virginia Maritime Association, The Truckload Carriers Association, and is a past Director of the Hampton Roads Shipping Association. In 2012, the Virginia Maritime Association awarded Franks its Distinguished Service and Man of the Year Award.
