6:00pm All field trip participants to meet at Euston Station, London be by the seats by Threshers and Sloe Bar next to the Platform 1 ramp. 

Depart by train from Euston Station at 6:30pm to arrive in Carlisle Station, North England by 9:50pm. First class train ride with complimentary food and beverage.

Depart train station by bus to Hetland Hotel at Dumfries Scotland

8:00am: Breakfast at hotel  

9:00am: Depart Hetland Hotel

10:00 – 11:30am: Visit Fountains Sitka Spruce Operations at Gilkerscleuch near Abington (this includes the recently cleared biomass residue site)

11:30am – 1:00pm: Lunch & Travel time to next tour

1:00 – 3:00pm: Visit large James Jones softwood sawmill at Lockerbie

3:00 – 3:30pm: Visit Jenkinson biomass processing yard at Lockerbie

3:30 – 4:30pm Visit adjacent Eon Combine Wood-fuelled Heating Power (CHP) station

4:30 – 5:15pm Return to Hetland Hotel

8:00am: Breakfast at hotel

9:00 – 9:20am: Presentation by the field trip host FW Forestry covering an overview of the Scottish and UK forest investment and forest industry sectors, ending with Q&A

9:20 – 9:40am: Presentation by Jody Strickland, Executive VP Forest Operations and Real Estate, F&W Forestry Services, Inc. covering the economics of growing plantation forestry in the UK, US South and Latin America

9:40 – 10:00am: Coffee Break

10:00 – 11:00am: Depart Hetland Hotel  

11:00 – 12:15pm: Visit Fountains Upper Howcleuch Sitka spruce plantation forest operations (this includes forests located near windmill turbines)

12:15 – 1:45pm: Lunch and transportation to Hadrians Wall – Roman Fort

1:45 – 3:00pm: Visit the Birdoswald Roman Fort at Hadrians wall

3:00 – 3:30pm: Transportation to the Carlisle Railway Station

3:49pm Train ride to Euston Station, London arriving at 7:10pm
