Hayes H. Howard joined his Father at Howard Publications in 1973 after graduating from the University of North Carolina. In 1974 he and his Father founded American Shipper magazine. American Shipper today has writers in New York, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles and Jacksonville. American Shipper covers international trade and logistics globally.
American Shipper also publishes research reports based on original research and research produced by others and produces a series of webinars each year.
In 1998 Howard founded ComPair Data, a data and research company specializing in the analysis of ocean carrier service networks and capacity data and a daily data feed to major forwarders and shippers around the world on sailing schedule data for 160 carriers.
In January this year the company launched Adam Smith Project, examine the world of global commerce in the midst of chaos brought about by disruptive forces threatening free trade today.
