Rod Young has spent nearly 40 years doing economic analysis of the global pulp and paper market. His work has received worldwide recognition. Rod now consults on a regular basis with companies throughout the world in his role as Chief Economic Advisor for the RISI, Inc. RISI was started by Rod and five colleagues in the mid-1980s and was subsequently sold to private equity interests. It is the leading supplier of news and economic analysis for the global forest products industry.
Rod became involved with the Arizona wine industry in 2003, when he invested in the family-owned Page Springs Cellars wine business. In 2007, he broadened his ownership in the Arizona wine industry to include a share of Arizona Stronghold Vineyards, LLC (ASV). Rod has filled the role of CFO for ASV since its inception in 2007 and then took on the direct responsibility for Controller in the latter part of 2014.
Rod received a Master of Science degree in Forestry Economics from Virginia Polytechnical Institute in 1977 and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Michigan State University.
