Steve Voorhees



Steve Voorhees is chief executive officer of WestRock, a global paper and packaging company based in Atlanta, Georgia.  WestRock was formed in 2015 with the merger of MeadWestvaco and RockTenn.  Previously, he was CEO of RockTenn, where he also served in various executive leadership roles, including president and chief operating officer; executive vice president and chief financial officer; and chief administrative officer. 

Before joining RockTenn, Voorhees was in operations and executive roles at Sonat Inc., a diversified energy company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. 

Voorhees serves as a member of the board of directors of SunTrust Banks, Inc., the National Association of Manufacturers and 3DE by Junior Achievement, a non-profit organization dedicated to reengineering high school education nationwide.  He serves on the board of councilors of the Carter Center.  

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics and mathematics from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
