Frank Werling, Head of Technical, Engineering and Design at Metsä Wood, began his career in the timber industry at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, where he studied Civil/Structural Engineering with a focus on timber and steel constructions. In 2002, having gained an extensive accumulation of timber knowledge and experience, Frank joined Metsä Wood UK as an engineer, leading a team of five in Building Solutions. Now, Frank oversees software, products, system development and design services, as well as using his expertise to help Metsä Wood lead the way in BIM engineering and supply to offsite manufacturing.
