EURBAN Limited

I’m a specialist timber engineer with over 20 years of experience in the timber industry in Europe and overseas. At the moment I’m working as a Director at EURBAN Limited with offices in London UK and in Frauenfeld CH, where I’m responsible for all design and technical matters and manage a team of around 30 engineers, designers and project manager.

I was born in Switzerland and trained there first as a carpenter and foreman before working as a Project Manager for an architectural office in Wald near Zurich which specialised in timber buildings. I studied at Bern University of Applied Science, Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering in Biel, qualifying as a timber structural engineer in 2007. During that time I done my internship at Blumer- Lehmann AG in Gossau near St Gallen. Where I also work after finishing university before moving to London to work for Eurban Limited. I have had extensive experience over the last 20 years, working with on all type of projects from small bespoke single-family houses, educational buildings to big multi storey residential projects in Europe and overseas.

My experience in the timber housing industry, both in the UK and abroad spans from working with individual private clients to big multinational developers. Some of my most notable residential projects are a development of 4 holiday homes in Braunwald in the Swiss Alps, which involved installation by helicopter. Bridport House an 8-storey residential tower, providing 41 homes in Hackney, London N1, which was one of the tallest and biggest solid timber building in the UK at the time. Also the residential developments Cobalt Place in London for Lend Lease and Highpoint Terrace for Mace.

In the UK, I have been involved in a large number of educational buildings of various sizes and complexity. This includes the likes of Waingles College a £28m redevelopment of the existing project by adding 4 new large teaching blocks or Ickburgh School the UK’s first SEN School in Hackney London. One of my latest projects is the involvement in £50m Northstowe Education Campus which will be one of the biggest timber education projects I the UK.

I’m also getting involved in overseas consultancy work in Australia, New Zealand, North America and Singapore. Were we are working with local partners to support them with our experience in the design, manufacturing and assembly of timber projects.

I’m a regular presenter at different timber conferences and event all over the world to share or knowledge and spread the work of modern timber construction.
