Walter Schalka is President at Suzano, a position he has held since January 2013. The executive has played a strategic role in the evolution of the company's results in recent years.

He started his career at Citibank, joined the Maepar Group's Financial Holding and in 1989, he assumed the position of Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at Dixie Lalekla. With the merger of the Toga and Dixie Lalekla companies, which took place in 1995, creating the Dixie Toga Group, he became Director General. In 1997, he assumed the chairmanship of the Group, participating decisively in the expansion, merger and transfer of the company's share control. In May 2005, he joined the Votorantim Group to take over the presidency of Votorantim Cimentos, being responsible for its operations in Brazil and in 14 countries.

Schalka is an Engineer graduated from ITA and holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas de São Paulo (FGV-SP). Participated in Specialization and Improvement courses at IMD Institutes (Switzerland) and Harvard (USA).
