Bosques Cautín/Trans Pacific Fibre
Andrés is a Forestry Engineer from Universidad Austral, Valdivia, Chile and has a MBA from Universidad Adolfo Ibañez, Santiago, Chile. He started his career in ARAUCO in 1999. After that, in 2004, he joined Bosques Cautín, a Chilean forestry company dedicated to eucalyptus globulus production and woodchips exports. In 2012 Bosques Cautín and Mitsui Bussan Woodchips South America started a joint venture and founded Trans Pacific Fibre (TPF). The idea was to develop a new woodchips export company, but this time based on eucalyptus nitens and focused in the Chinese market. Currently Andrés is Managing Director in both Bosques Cautín and TPF. Today, both companies, are producing more than 400.000 BDMT/year, operating through two ports, and have combined annual sales of some USD 50 million.
Andrés, currently 45 years old, is married and has 3 children, his hobbies are skiing and biking. He lives in Temuco, Chile.

Representatives from woodchip exporting companies in several Latin American countries (Chile, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina) have been invited to discuss the current situation and outlook for export woodchip supply from their respective countries.
