The Navigator Company
Nuno Santos is an Executive Director at The Navigator Company since May 2015 (member of Navigator’s Board and Executive Committee).
He is responsible for Navigator’s forest and wood supply activity (5 million tons per year of eucalyptus wood; 100.000 hectares of own forest land), for the international Project in Mozambique (currently in forestry phase; 150.000 hectares plantation potential: 10% currently planted), and for Navigator’s Tissue Business (120.000 ton/year).
Before that, Nuno has been at McKinsey & Company for 22 years, from 1993 until 2015. He was elected Partner on 2001 and Senior Partner on 2008. He led the Energy, Commodities and Industrial Practice at McKinsey’s Iberian Office.
Having graduated in Civil Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in 1993, Nuno Santos obtained an MBA from INSEAD in 1996.

Portugal is the third largest producer of wood pulp in Europe, and relies on a significant volume of hardwood chip imports from Uruguay and Portugal to supplement domestic wood supplies. This presentation will give an overview of the Portuguese pulp and paper sector and their potential need for woodfiber imports.
