Great Northern Timber
Anthony (Tony) Mee is President of Great Northern Timber Group of Companies, Canadian forest products manufacturers of logs, woodchips, biomass and pellets. The companies are vertically integrated with harvesting operations, processing facilities, terminal operations, a trading desk and shipping.
Tony graduated with a BSc in forestry and has been involved with sawmilling, wood treatment and fiber exports for over 44 years. In 1988 he and his partner David Bassendale incorporated Great Northern Timber to sell Canadian round wood overseas, joint ventured with a large Japanese Trading Company to build a Canadian East coast hardwood woodchip exporting facility in 1994, assumed ownership in 2004, developed a second Terminal in 2010 and most recently opened a wood pellet manufacturing facility for domestic and overseas supply. The companies have shipped both hardwood and softwood fiber for more than 30 years to five continents.
